Overclocking on P6X58D-E

Hello guys,

New member here so thanks for having me! I am completely new to overclocking and would really like to get the best out of my system. I'm at somewhat of a loss to where to begin, I see that I have the turbo V program to overclock but I hear I should do it all through the bios. To be honest If I could just do it through turbo V to begin with that would be handy as I'd rather not mess about with Bios until I find my feet a little more.

My system is as follows:

Asus P6X58D-E motherboard
Intel i7 950 3.06 (though with power saving off it is @ 3.2)
Corsair H70 cooling for CPU
Nvidia GTX470
Corsair XMS 3 Ram 3x2gigz at 1600MHz

I imagine there is probably another thread so feel free to redirect me but any and all halp is appreciated.

I would really like to get my i7 running at 4gigz ior there abouts, not sure if it would run higher, but 4 would be a great start

Thanks in advance to you all!

Lots of OC profiles and info. The P6X58D is a very popular and well documented board.

Thanks so much for the input guys, I just whipped your settings in M0E and it seems to be running a treat! I;m prime 95ing at the moment and thats been running for around 30 mins so far and its maxing at 50C so I imagine there's some headroom left should I want it higher, however for now I am pretty satisfied with the results.

Thanks again you made this process incredibly simple!

Im glad those settings worked out for you. Should it have blue screened or locked up during your Prime run, just increase the CPU voltage up .01 and try it again.
