Hi i have 2X 5970 2gb
And just recently changed from air cooling to watercooling.
Before i started the graphicards worked fine, now it wont!
The card gives me 2 red lights, and no screen. I can see that my computer starts, because the mouse and the keyboard is working. I have even resetted the bios, and still dont work.

Following steps has been done.
1: tryed in different pcie slots no good
2: tryed with different power connectors 6-pin and 8-pin no good
3: tryed added the fan with watercoolingblock no good
4: removed the waterblock and added the fabrican fan again, no good

What i havent done:
1: tested with another psu
2: tested the secondary hd 5970

This is what i bought.

Swiftech GPU-wateblock MCW80
Swiftech ram-/chipsetcooler, MC14, kopper
Swiftech MOSFET cooler, MC21, 4 stk., aluminium

Specs.

Cooler Master GX 650W PSU
Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD7, Socket-1366
Intel Core™ i7 Quad Processor i7-950
Corsair Dominator DHX DDR3 1600MHz 12GB

Hope someone can help me out here.
Do i need to flash the card before i add wc?

Rememmber all these test only one card was used not two!

Can you see anything when you power on the PC? or is the screen Black throughout the boot process.
1) Reset the Cmos (Remove the 3v battery from the MOBO)
2) Make sure the MOBO is grounded (Check all screws be sure the board isn't touching the case)
3) Remove the Card and the Cmos battery and power on the system and power down. Unplug Drain all power by pressing the power button. Re-seat the card and the battery and power on.

Changing the cooling system isn't related to the card bios, after all you are not touching internal components.

Now, can't find what those two red lights mean ?
It could mean :
- Not enough power
- faulty card
- Not properly seated

I know my 5970 is giving me a green light when the system is on.

Also please fill out your system spec in the user settings section.

If you have the manual it should be explained what the different lights mean.

If you find out it would make it alot easier.

Yeah, but all the same, it wouldn't hurt to reset the jumper or cmos, those issues are screaming bios related to me.

650w is nowhere near enough for crossfire 5970s.!!!!! Adding water cooling obviously pushed your PSU over the edge.

You should have be looking at 1000w +.

I think since the card has a waterblock on it it thinks the fan is broke because the connector isn't drawing any power. It's like turning on a pc "CPU Fan Error......*turns off* "
