For the record, it didn't take down the building. THAT would be nonsense. The shock from the explosion simply spread cracks throughout the building which is AWESOME. And yes, the sign obviously dropped due to the wall it is attached to cracking.
I know what an AT4 can do. I didn't need to watch your little video of it punching a hole through a brick wall or the one set to a terrible heavy metal song that I closed out of as soon as I heard it. Those videos have nothing to do with the absolutely exaggerated power of the AT4 in that video. I also never said it took down the building. That tiny little rocket completely shook the whole hotel, knocking out all of the windows, and even tearing down the sign from it.

I remember videos from GDC showing the quakes.
What...? It's not an earthquake. Iraq doesn't have massive earthquakes that suddenly appear when someone fires a should mounted rocket.

I find it hilarious that all the guys on the CoD forums are actually wanting this game.
I'm amazed that they aren't trying to troll it, even the CoD fanboys have to admit BF3 is awesome.

Was thinking the same thing.

Isn't it in Pre-Alpha and it already looks this good?

Tell that to all the soldiers who went to Iraq/Afghanistan.

If the building fell down because of one AT4, then that's just ridiculous. I think they're going for a little realism in this game (though it's still a video game and not a war simulator, so nitpicking about realism is kind of ridiculous as well).

However movement while being prone seems very rigid. That is definitely something they can consider that needs to be revised.
What should they do about the prone movement? I thought that was pretty great, as opposed to many games that just lower the weapon off the screen or don't do anything at all. Prone is a weird one, because you can't really glide along smoothly like you do when you move in games. So the animation won't really match up, unless they want to make prone movement in short strides as you crawl your way along, which I think would be just annoying and going too much for realism.

all though i'm kinda surprised that there's no real cover system :/ i mean i'll live without it but it would add to the immersion a bit.
Is there no cover system? I remember seeing some screenshots showing what looked like the character taking cover behind a wall (I think it was actually at the same part that this gameplay video in the OP shows). Just because they didn't show any in this video doesn't necessarily mean there isn't one.

You don't think a rocket with an explosion would shake a building up? Like someone else mentioned, the location is near a fault line and there's quakes, so the building may have already been in shambles which could be an explanation for the sign and the chunk of wall falling off.

I mean, maybe you're right. Maybe it is exaggerated. But it is still an action video game. And I'm sure they want to show off their engine's destruction effects and capabilities.

I don't mind the iron sights part. It's still a video game, and I'd kind of like to be able to shoot accurately without having to use them. But I also like the idea of some realism, so if it was inaccurate when shooting that way wouldn't bother me either. Not a big deal to me.

Environment textures look pretty great to me, and the first person animations are way better than any other game I've played (and the other character animations are incredible). Also, can you point out at what time in the video you see the artifacting? I didn't see any when I went back and watched.

Also, I think it had been posted on OCN before that these gameplay demos were shown running on a 360 (even though we saw the WASD in the first video). Perhaps that would account for some graphical quality loss.

Yeah, shooting too much gives away position too easily and it's a waste of ammunition. But I guess they were going for a bit of an "oh crap we are under fire" stressful situation kind of thing? I don't know. But you're right, the sniper was pretty much spamming bullets at one point.

Yeah, that would be pretty nice. Although considering the amount of destruction in the game, it might just add up to be too much to process. Just imagine all the fragments from blowing up a wall, much less a whole building.

Who ever said the trailer's setting was in Iraq? The trailer is called "Fault Line" and regardless, Iraq does have earthquakes FYI. It sits on a 300 mile fault line.

The game isn't even in Beta stages; it's actually not even in Alpha stages. Everything we've seen is pre-Alpha. Keeping the debris there requires a good amount of coding to store it in memory for x amount of time or until x event happens that moves the debris or requests that memory space and clears the debris.
