I'd take the Grados over those Sennheisers and Sonys any day of the week.

Hmm. I would disagree but not entirely. Grados feel really shabby and you're always afraid you're going to break them. On the other hand, the Sennheiser HD280 Pro clamps really hard and is extremely uncomfortable if you have a big head. The Sony MDR-V6 is honestly the only headphone I would consider out of the three because even though it can be classified as having harsh treble, it can also do a decent amount of bass after lengthy burn-in and swapping to Beyerdynamic pads.

Couldn't stomach the sound of Sony's. Was just ULTRA boring to me. But I never swapped the pads. Everytime I go to my friends house and use his headphones it's like...

For his music taste I think Grados are the way to go.

Heh, and this is why we say audio is subjective! What's fine for one person is just not going to cut it for someone else. I could never get used to the Grado sound or design style. It's just too forward and looks way too cheap for how much it costs

The Grados are so.... energetic. Brings out the front end, great for rock. The Sonys are... analytical. They bring out everything . I got to try them at my freinds house (his dad is a DJ), and had an eargasm.

Then again, I`m a bass man myself, I need headphones to bring out the wubwubwub in dubstep.

They look and feel cheap, but from what I`ve heard, those fellas can stand some abuse, and then some. Not as much as the Sony V6, but a surprising amount conisdering their delicate feel.
