Absolute best is Indigo or Cool Lab Pro. Though, those are very unusual and complicated TIM applications.

Best standard TIM is MX-2, OCZ Freeze, Gelid Extreme, IC7, Shin Etsu. Gelid Extreme ties if not edge out IC7.

Actually Indigo Xtreme I think was probably the easiest application I have ever seen.

Uhh, i dont agree but it is the best tim, but once you use it you have to sand your block and cpu to get the stuff off. Because the stuff needs to be heated up to flow then once it cools it solidify.

**** etsu is the best stuff out there, but quite viscous.
Shin-Etsu X23-7783D Is the best of the bunch.

everything else the other forum members mentioned is right up there in performance. Marginally only fractions a a degree difference. Get those if you are doing a rig build where shipping wont matter

best bang for buck i would get this, if you are just buying TIM by itself.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835150080
it is a shin etsu rebrand.

coollaboratory liquid pro is probably the best, but does come with some difficulty as it is really hard to spread evenly plus it can mess up hardware if it spills onto something...

I would go with shin etsu or noctua nt-h1

followed by good old Arctic Silver ceramique
