I find it strange that you don't have 1080p though, thought all the G73s did, and it was the G53 that had the lower resolution.

Best Buy, iirc, has been the only retailer(at least in america, new, not refurbished) that has sold the G50, G51, G71, G72, and G73 that had lower than 1080p screens. It makes them cheaper to sell, and actually increases performance in games(because for gaming, who seriously needs 1080p on a 17 inch screen, but the trade-off is that for day to day use, multitasking, surfing, you don't have as much screen space to work with.

If he got it at Best Buy, he probably only payed 1200-1300 for it. The only real downside to buying it from Best Buy imo, if Best Buy usually cuts out Asus's manufacturer's warranty down to just the standard 1 year, so you don't get the 1 year of accidental coverage and the two year standard warranty.

I did see a couple of these Asus's as my store we just got in the other day, cant wait to play with it when we get it out on display.

Most interesting. I was unaware of this, even though I've been at my Best Buy playing with the computer. I often times use it to look up prices on Newegg while I'm there.

The price is right for a 2nd gen Intel i7 (SB) with a GTX460m and 8gb of RAM.

If you could please post up some benchies of:

COD BO
COD MW2
Crysis
Crysis 2 demo
BF BC2
Vantage

Could you snap of pic of the rear exhaust? I am looking at the BB pics and I am getting a bit concerned. biggrin.gif

When I get home, sure thing! There are 2 exhausts, one is for the GPU, and one is for the CPU, the CPU one exhausts much warmer air than the GPU one, but you can still feel the heat from the GPU one.

The one you linked was a G73SW-BST6, I have a HST6.. The difference I do not know.

I can do Crysis, BC2, and 3dM11, I've done Vantage, on the first page. I however don't think I have MW2 or BO at home, I could check my server... But I think for some reason, I have them on my external hard drive at work, actually, I just checked, I do. So I'd have to put them on my flash drive at take them home.

I agree, 1920x1200 would be even better, but 1600x900 is a nice resolution none the less.

Thanks, I just want to actually see benchies to know what I am getting myself into. Plus with me already having a 1680x1050 monitor now, it won't be that much of a difference.

Here is your model.

I think I am going to wait anyways for Newegg to have the SW versions in anyways. Most likely it will be cheaper and with a better warranty. biggrin.gif
