[gamrReview] Homefront Review

At first glance, Homefront is a great new game with a brilliant speculative fiction back-story. After several hours, however, you realize it's actually just half of a great game. A four hour campaign, no split-screen, and only two multiplayer modes make Homefront literally half of other AAA FPS games that it's trying to compete with. What's there is brilliant, Kaos and THQ just forgot to give us a game worthy of $60.

Four hour campaign?

Glad I didn't preorder. Metro2033 + 4hrs of generic FPS still isn't worth $50.

Note: This is the PS3 version, so the graphics look like arse. I'm sure the PC version will be at least slightly better.

4 Hours of game play isn't worth $10 to me...

I might consider it when it hits the bargain basement, maybe...

It looks like COD multiplayer with only deathmatch and king of the hill, and another boring upgrade tree. Not enough to pull me away from BC2, sorry.

Yeah, this is going to be one of the bigger flops this year. You really can't expect good sales when it takes longer to watch all the promotional videos than it does to actually finish the game.

This game is worth $10 to me. When it gets that price, I'll bite.

I think it will still have a good first week because of the marketing blitz. I mean, you should see my local Walmart, the entire gaming section is covered with Homefront promotional material. But I think once word gets out this game is going to bomb.

I'm not one of those people who will sneer at an 8-12 hour campaign, as long as it's a good 8-12 hours. But four hours--FOUR HOURS--is way, way, way too short for $60, especially when the multiplayer mode brings nothing new to the table.

Ha. Yeah, I agree. Your view on multilayer FPS pretty much changes after you've spent time in BC2.

Here's to hoping Dice delivers a similar if not, greater experience with Battlefield 3.

And ppl are surprised that this game sucks?

*sigh* another FPS, another day, another fool buying into the hype... This genre needs to die out already so that it can become good again.
