PC P&C Silencer 750 or something else?

Thread Starter
Right now, I can get the Silencer (not the Mk. II) for $55 AR.
Should I just go ahead and submit the order, or wait for some better deals on the Corsair 750TX V2 ($110 AR)/Antec TP750 ($90, the gray unit)?
The catch is, though, that the Silencer is recertified, and only has 1 year warranty (compared to the other 2 I mentioned).

I have a Silencer 750. It's been a very good PSU, running pretty much 24/7 for the past 3+ years without a hitch. Of course, I bought mine new. They seem to be pretty solid, constant voltages and all. I can't speak for Corsair, although I'm thinking about the Corsair AX1200 for my new build.

i would take the antec since its not so much more expensive and semi-modular. also its performs on par or better then the silencer 750. the silencer is a good performer but the seasonic platform it is based on it getting old already. jus my 2c

The Silencer is an old PSU; albeit reliable. I'd take the Antec, however. It's really a matter of personal preference and getting the features you want. Deal either way.

But the Antec costs $35 more (which would go towards another 5850 for crossfire, or a second monitor for Eyefinity).
I guess what I'm wondering is if the Antec is worth the extra money.

Does the recertified tag affect it (the quality) in any way?

Seeing as the PC p&c is used, I would go with the Corsair PSU.
Good warranty, and customer service!
