About to buy a C300

Thread Starter
I'm about to jump the gun on a C300 128gb, wanted to know your guy's experience going from a Scorpio Black in terms of power consumption, and anything else.
Should I go for the C300 or wait for the Vertex 3? The reason why my mind is currently set on the C300 is because it's cheaper than what the Vertex 3 will be, and even if I got the Vertex 3 I will be capped by having to use Sata 2...
Also, has anyone seen it any cheaper from a reputable source than this?
Opinions?

Power consumption is drastically lower, speed is drastically faster.
If you don't have a SATA3 port, then you should get a Vertex 2 or something similar. C300s are honestly the best only when in SATA3, and Vertex 3s have the problems related to this new SSD technology (don't want to search for the link, it was in the news some time ago however).

I just bought a C300 64Gb and a Sata3 mobo a couple weeks ago and I gotta say I absolutely love it and the speed. I've seen write speeds as high as 329 in AS SSD Benchmark. It is my first SSD ever and I am so glad I got it

Vertex 2 price = C300 price
At least I'll be future proofed if I get the C300.

Where did you get your information on power consumption out of curiosity, I've been looking but couldn't find anything...

Only doubt I have is space, will 128gb be enough :?

Nice, can't wait
Hopefully I'll get some decent speeds in SATA 2 on my laptop.

Yes, 120gb will be enough. I have all my programs except games in the SSD and I barely hit the 30gb.
And it's widely known that SSDs consume less power than a HDD

That is for flash memory not for big SSDs like the C300

So I was wondering, I use sleep/hibernation on my laptop all the time, and all the guides I see recommend you disable it :/ Can I somehow continue to use them without killing my drive? i thought sleep offloaded everything to the ram, not the hard drive?
Also, what about restore points? they're also super useful in case you delete/overwrite a file you'd been working on for hours accidentally...
