When OSX encounters it's specific malware its more devastating than if windows did. Sure both get breached but the results here speak of how if you were dumb and went somewhere shady; you'd be slightly worse off with OSX than windows.
More secure by design? Meaning there's tons more malware out there designed to take advantage of Windows? It's so secure that's is so readily exploited?

It's not like they're not all the same exploit here....

Whether or not there's a correlation to the amount of Window's malware and to how secure the OS actually is, is debatable.

When I used my PC exclusively I ran CCleaner regularly, other scanners like Spybot and AdAware, virus scanners, so on and so forth. Every now and then some bogus crap would pop up - it just happens. Since I've been on OSX, I simply don't worry about it. Call me naive, but it's jus the way it is. If and when OSX ever gets on the same level as PCs in terms of malware, I'll take action. Until then, it's nice not having to run all that nonsense software and I'm pretty sure every Mac convert would agree with me on that.

Uhh, no... I don't care how many times in a row. The fact is, it takes weeks and months to develop these hacks.

Since hackers hate apple more than msft today, this was likely pre arranged.

It annoys me when people say "Oh yeah, I use Macs because it doesn't get viruses."

I get what you're saying here. ForumViewer, to help you better understand what he's trying to say I'll use that "neighborhood" analogy that one of us was using earlier:

You see, in how you were saying it, a nice neighborhood is more "secure" in that there's less likely a chance that some bad guy will roll up to your house and pop a cap in your *** than a bad neighborhood. Rookie was arguing that "security through design" is more than just being in a nice neighborhood - it's more like living in a military HQ with freaking CG noobs (yes, I'm alluding to BC2 MP ) patrolling the area with AT mines scattered throughout the perimeter.

I'm pretty sure that's what Rookie meant by "security through design".

With that being said, I'm not trying to say that Windows does live in a nice neighborhood with a military HQ, but more so a really, really, big one with lots of people in a military HQ. We all know that lots of things can happen when lots of people are in a confined space, and that's why Windows has to be more secure through design - they have to have guards patrolling, marksmen on the lookout, and all that good stuff. With Apple's OS, it's not that big on security mainly because not a lot of people use it - there's not nearly as many people in a confined space as Window's, and therefore a smaller chance that some bad guy will show up and try to do bad things.

Hope that makes sense.

How often would I come across such an exploit on the internet?

And the first Windows hack/ virus dates back to when?

Yet Apple was still first to fall even when people have had decades to hack Windows.

Your argument makes little to no sense. The fact that it could be done in 5 seconds which wasn't accomplished on a Windows machine is what is astounding.

Especially when all Mac users are going to spew crap about how much more malware is written for Windows. Well then, why didn't Windows get screwed first?

Oh that's right, it isn't OSX.
