hdt s1283 + crossbow mounting HELP

I'm seriously about to rage. So i have the s1283, and i bought the crossbow bracket kit from newegg, (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...-060-_-Product) and now i'm so confused..

I keep reading about how i should have a new backplate?? I very simply removed the original hsf, cleaned my proc off, removed the original bracket, obviously not removing my mobo from my antec 300. now, i have used the same screws from the original bracket and put the new crossbows on as per the instructions.

NOW i am completely lost. i dont understand what to do with all these little metal pieces, there isn't a step by step guide with pictures or anything anywhere, and HOW the hell do you attach a fan to the side of this thing!?!? will that not ruin the metal fins? someone please help me

Inside the box, there's an instruction in there. Follow that. Worked for me.
