What type of CPU cooler is this?

Thread Starter
iBuyPower said they would send me a new one since my old one is being really loud and not cooling properly. There is no manual so I cannot see what type of heatsink it is, but here are some pictures:

Gotta love my bedsheets

But seriously, is this a decent heatsink? The one I have in my system right now is a stock AMD heatsink with stock paste. Would I get better temperatures if I swapped out the heatsinks and applied Arctic Silver 5?

That looks like a stock AMD AM3 heatsink. The one with direct heatpipe contact. Better than the one without it (AM2 one) but a stock cooler nonetheless.

that looks like a stock cooler from AMD with a copper heatsink; and applying AS5 might lower your temps by a little,

Would I notice a significant decrease in temperatures if I apply AS5 and use a Hyper 212 Plus cooler? Or would it be similar to stock temperatures with stock paste?
You'd notice a difference. But keep in mind the curing time of the AS5 and also the difference, given your application method of TIM can vary slightly. But definitely better than that cooler.

EDIT: Also the CM Hyper 212 comes with 2 sets of fan brackets for a push pull config. Way better than stock cooling IMO.
