Windows boot to black.

Hello all - I shut down my PC last night, and got a BSOD. I decided not to deal with it until today. When I started my PC, it asked me if I wanted to start in Safe Mode etc, I said yes. It worked just fine. So I shut it down and started it normally. Now all I have is a black screen after posting and saying "Starting Windows" for about 10 seconds. On my second monitor I can see my mouse, but the main screen is just black. Any ideas?

do some trouble shooting. when it comes to stuff like this, i start off just removing things one at a time.

first have only one monitor plugged in, if its black try the other. then start testing parts and connections.

Ah I thought he meant his main screen never showed an image while his extended did. If it workd in save mode but not for a normal boot it would be a windows issue.

Yeah, it works in safe, but not normal. Guess I'll pop in my disk and try to repair. Never done it before, but hell, first time for everything!

Boot to an install disk and run either a chkdsk or an offline sfc scan.

Either of those will most likely resolve the issue.
