Well, I just told you that I've had experience with cheap PSU's and it bit me in the butt. I feel like you're not looking for peoples opinions, but instead you're looking for someone to say, "Yeah, that's a good PSU. I'd stick with that one!" And you're not. It's doodie. You've been recommended a few nice PSU's that arent that expensive. I'll say it again. Don't cheap out on the PSU. Get a good quality brand, like another poster suggested. Nuff said!

A 2600K and a M4E wont give you that significant of an upgrade.

Also, I do not believe in skimping on the PSU since it powers your entire computer.

I think you should spend less money on the board/CPU and spread out your budget more evenly so you can get a well balanced system.

As stated above, the PSU is the last component you should cheap out on. Think of it as putting E85 Ethanol in your brand new Veyron.

SeaSonic S12ll 620W

A tad more wattage than your system requires but there is a bit of room for future upgrades as well. Very high quality platform.

Antec TruePower New TP-550

The sweet spot for your current system specs. Another quality unit based on a SeaSonic platform.

CORSAIR CMPSU-650TX

Very popular PSU. Not quite the quality it used to be according to some, but a reliable PSU regardless.

Tnx. Q6600 don't often do better than 3.6, any P35, P45, X38 or X48 should get it there.

OP: I'm gonna add this 'cause I've had great luck with it on 2 overclocked builds:

Do yourself a favor though and spend $100-120 on a 650-750W PSU. It will save you alot of troubleshooting and save you fails.

yes i have just got a bit more money and can now afford a good psu ($80-$120)
the only problem i have with these psu's that you have recommended is that my full rig which will be fully build in a few months has i7 2600K overclocked dual gtx 580's 8 gig ripjawX ram and maximus 4 extreme motherboard. so i was looking at a psu that can just mainly cope with the cpu and dual gtx 580's.
