Will this Work? (Dual Monitors)

Thread Starter
I'm waiting for the last components for a new build to arrive, so I'm easing the pain of waiting with some reading and trying to ensure whether some things I want to do will work.

Using Windows 7 Home Premium and an HIS Radeon 6950 2GB video card. The intent is to run two 23" LCDs (though it will be an ASUS 23" and an old Samsung 19" off teh start). The idea is to game on one while using the other for other stuff (surfing, streaming video, performance monitoring, etc). I also want to run an HDMI to the TV.

Of the video outs on the card, the HDMI will go the home theater system, the bigger monitor will be hooked up to an active display out (via adapter to HDMI), and the smaller monitor via DVI. When I add a second 23", I would probably use active display to HDMI as well.

My concern/thought/issue is regarding the Windows settings. So to use both monitors, I would use an extended desktop. To be able to use the HDMI to the home theater, I would have to use clone/duplicate of the 1st monitor. I don't know how often it would happen, but would I be able to use all three at once? Or would I have to switch it from extended desktop to clone on the HDMI output each time?

I would use DVI over HDMI. Displayport would be best but it doesn't have it (correct me if I'm wrong). You would be happier with IPS but seeing that's a new build, you've already used up a lot of the money.
