M4A88T-V EvO strange bios behavior

This is what has been going on. When entering bios and adjusting settings or loading default settings and exiting BIOS, the computer will shut itself off right after hitting the save and exit key.

For the past few boot ups the computer will just hang with the small cursor line blinking at the top left of the screen. I have to shut it down and hit F8 and boot it up that way to get into windows.

This can't be right. I just bought this mother board and been dealing with it today after installation.

Not sure why this erratic behavior, also I tried to use that O.C. Tuner and it shut off and restarted as soon as I clicked to use the O.C. Tuner.

Another wierd thing that has been going on.

CPU FAN ERROR! , CPU is 38 degrees, and the fan seems to be spinning fine. I read up somewhere that people that have the same aftermarket fan and mobo were all having this issue though.

That still does not explain this strange bios behavior.

I flashed to bios 0307 when I first installed the motherboard.. maybe that was a mistake?

BTW the system is
AMD PHENOM II X4 965 BE
6850 AMD ATI RADEON
Asus M4A88T-V EVO
500 GB Hitachi HD
500 GB seagate
750 Watt Corsair PSU

I had similar issues with mine (A4A79XTD). Eventually, it started hanging more, random restarts and crashes. Eventually it got so bad that I had to RMA the board. Now yours may just be a fluke. Have you tried going back to stock settings, no OC, and checking for issues? Last resort, maybe try going back to the old BIOS version.

It is probably just a bad board.

I honestly hope it's not a bad board, bc I already RMA'd the original board newegg sent me.

Sounds like a bios problem to be honest. It restarts after Saving the bios settings, then it will just hang on start up and I have to restart it and boot it with F8..

I think when I get around to it , I am going to turn off that core unlocker. I think that may be causing this problem. I have a 4 core CPU and hte unlocker isn't giving me anymore cores anyways...

After going through the bios and looking at the booting settings I found that it was trying to boot off my second HD, rather than then main one. I changed that around and it didn't hang.

As far as the cpu fan error.. Not sure yet, but I noticed that the fan RPM was going haywire... After reading a few things online with people that have similiar situations with the MOBO and Cooler (Arctic freezer rev 2) I am using, I decided to turn off Q fan..
Now OCCT is reading my cpu temps. Before I turned that off , nothing would read the temps and I couldn't figure out why. So, hopefully that fixed the cpu fan problems.
