Noctua U12P SE2

Thread Starter
Hey. I installed my Noctua cooler yesterday and I'm testing my cpu at 3.8Ghz right now. My temps seem pretty high. 78C on core 1, 77 core 2, 76 core 3 and 72 on core 4 on average after about 30 mins of prime95. My basement is maybe 20, 22 degrees? My cpu voltage is 1.22.

This was my first cpu cooler installation, asides from the stock Intel one with the paste preapplied. I believe I did everything correctly. I followed Noctuas instructions by placing a 4-5mm size dot of paste on the center of the cpu.

Maybe too much paste? Also, the type of paste used has some effect. Remove the cooler and see what the spread of the paste looks like. If it all looks good, clean off the old and reapply.

ALso, what vcore is your 930? If it's high, that would explain high temps!

Thank you. I used the Noctua paste that came with the cooler. I think I will try reinstalling the cooler tomorrow. Maybe I did use a bit to much paste. What temps would you expect me to see?

I reinstalled the cooler. I did use to much paste. I reinstalled it with the proper amount but my temps are the same. I do have HT enabled. Should I turn it off? I assume that will lower the temps. Will it affect performance in video games much?
