No mounting support for ports on back of MB!!

Thread Starter
Sooo I recently built a rig that I outlined in another post here....yes I still need to post pics... but I've been busy playing One thing I definitely don't like is that after removing the knockout from the back of my case (APEVIA X-DREAMER3-BK) which I had to for my MB ports to be accessible, It seems theres no support to hold the ports(vga/usb and such) when plugging stuff into them, and theyre just kindof hanging there... It feels like if I pushed hard enough I would break them off...of course the phrase "dont push hard" comes to mind, but it seems like theres something missing here.. is there some kind of mounting plate that should go back there to hold it all together? My ASUS m4a88td-evo MB was open box so I'm thinking its missing something

P.s. thanks to the advice from everyone here I just ordered my cooler master 212+

usually motherboards come with a faceplate that goes over the ports. Its just like the one that comes originally with the case, but is specific for that motherboard. There's nothing that mounts to the motherboard to hold the ports in place though

Yup. Any motherboard bought retail should come with an I/O backplate.

Open box...key words right there.

You should get in contact with the retailer and see about an RMA.
