Asus GTX 460 1GB worth Overclocking?

Thread Starter
I got myself an ASUS GeForce GTX 460 Fermi DirectCU 675MHZ 1GB 3.6GHZ video card and now that I am going to water-cool it I thought maybe its worth over-clocking it.

I never OC a video card before and have no clue how to do so...

ive got the same card, and yes these cards reach phenomenal clocks, if your not sure what to do. Once youve got it all setup and watercooled ill show you how to do it.

you can overclock it on aircooling as well

you can use Evga precision or MSI arfterburner ( the most common ones i find )

friends asus 460 can do 1ghz on stock cooler. >.> he wont give it to me

460's are monster overclockers..it will push to 850 easily, 900 if you're lucky with volt boosts..and safe!

The asus gtx 460 is non-reference card... Is there a waterblock for it?
In any case 460s are meant to be overclocked wink.gif.

Huh, thats 900mhz? thats nothing amazing. frown.gif
I thought you said it did 1ghz?
Yes yes and yes. You really dont want tO keep it stock. Many of the aftermarket (non reference) cards ship at 800mhz + and are much faster. The cards will hit up to 900 with 1.087v and can go even further using more voltage via modding the bios.
