This is no different than how DiRT2 was released. DX9 release, had DX11 patched in later. The difference visually was almost nothing (better sun reflections). The same can, and WILL be said about Crysis 2.

I'm sorry, but I am fully disappointed with this game, and Crytek will never get ANY money from me for this pile of trash.
Maybe we should buy the game before saying it sucks, that's what the C2 defenders keep saying. I guess buying it will fix all of the obvious flaws. Then I would have to justify my purchase by looking at the brightside. I rather be a smart consumer and wait for the user and site reviews before buying. No need to pre-order when you have a bunch of other people willing to test it for you at launch. I will be here, carefully reading user feed back on the 22nd. I'm staying positive, for now.

Well I just beat the fist crysis again this week, still playing through crysis warhead... All maxed out on both games... So I have a fresh memory of the graphics of Crysis 1.

I think that crysis 2 looks basically the same, textures and everything look like crysis 1 quality... I think that crysis 2 should be 2x as demanding as crysis 1 since it was basically a tech demo game that happened to be awesome and years ahead of its time graphically and technically.

Srsly it should be DX11 using all the latest technologies and capabilities of the latest API... It should be using all sorts of crap like tessellation n stuff (insert buzzwords here).

That said I dont care I will play it anyway, as long as its at least as good looking as crysis 1 then that is good enough, im all hyped up about it, it should be amazing.

Except, you haven't. You're basing your comparison on an unreleased game, and a demo that more than likely was quickly ported from the Xbox version after we complained about not getting a demo.

Unless you've found a confirmation that I haven't, for all we know the game may very well have DX11 at launch. So far, all I've seen is hearsay (most likely stemming from the original sweclockers.com post) that Crytek will ship the game with DX9 only.

Crytek =/= Codemasters. We still have no idea how Crytek has implemented DX11, so we can't say what difference exists.

/I'll give Crytek the benefit of the doubt on this, since I've seen no conclusive evidence about the rumors floating around.

Crytek themselves said that Crysis 2 is shipping in DX9 only. So yes....we HAVE already seen what it looks like. It will be absolutely NO DIFFERENT than the demo. Period. Wish in one hand, crap in another...see which fills up first. In other words, you can keep wishing for Crysis 2 to blow you away...but its not going to.

It was posted in the news WEEKS AGO that Crytek announced that DX11 will be PATCHED IN LATER.

And I understand Crytek isn't Codemasters. Durr. It doesn't change the fact that a simple PATCH isn't going to make the game look any better at all. It just won't. The entire game code would have to be re-written, which it WON'T BE, seeing as how its a DX11 patch.

What that he got the game for the 360. What's blasphemy is that people like you get offended when someone actually considers getting a game on a platform that isn't the PC.....
