heres my list of some things that just came in the mail last night from NEWEGG...

AND NO GAMER CAN LIVE WITHOUT HIS SC2 RAZER MOUSE!!! woot woot

I was nervous about overclocking my SB build too, since I've always been AMD and never had "real" hardware. I put it together yesterday (sig rig).

Overclocking it was literally the easiest thing I have ever done in my life, period. It starts getting fairly difficult and requires more advanced tuning around 4.7-5.0ghz. But anything before 4.5-4.6 is just easy as pie.

All I had to do to get from 3.4 to 4.5 stable was.

1. Increase CPU voltage
2. Increase multiplier to 45
3. Set correct timings
4. Done.

That's it. I ran P95 Blend overnight, woke up and it was still going strong after 8 hours. Max temps were 70c.

Here's the guide I followed. INCREDIBLY detailed.

http://www.clunk.org.uk/forums/overc...beginners.html

You're gonna love the rig man, it's honestly scary how fast this thing is and I haven't even tried gaming yet.

I wouldent get a pny gtx570 every pny card ive had overheats easily. But other than that it looks good and overclocking easy.

OK NOW TO GET THIS LOG STARTED!
(keep in mind this is all pre written i wanted it all in one post, see dates)
(all pics taken with iphone 4 with crap light so work with me on some of the pic qualities)

so all my components came in last week except my motherboard...

SANDY BRIDGE!

[3/17/11 Thursday]
Im calibrating the monitor

EWWwwww

MMMmmm much better.... Olivia Wilde Drives me Wild!

PFFfff suck it VGA

[3/18/11 Friday]
After ordering my motherboard on Amazon LITERALLY 3 times (they sent me the wrong motherboard (the H67)... working on sending that back. heres the thread for that story
http://www.overclock.net/intel-mothe...-i-do-h67.html

I ordered a legit P8P67 M pro from a seller on amazon, she is priority shipping to me will be here monday, so this weekend i have to sit on my hands and stare at my huge pile of awesomeness that i can do NOTHING with

OH and my Windows 7 64 bit came in today as well.

Going to my girlfriends, friends birthday tonight so should help with the uncontrollable eagerness i have looking at my stuff!

There she is waiting for me to stop "fiddling" cute yeah?

[3/19/11 Saturday]
Woke up early, I MUST DO SOMETHING WITH THIS HARDWARE! IM BEING NERD BLUE BALLSED!

Girlfriends at work so Im going to start assembling the power supply, case and put in the Blu-Ray drive in. I just HAD to have shipping issues with the thing i need to do practically anything! lol

Ok Blu-Ray drives in, power supply is in, i have to take out the fan on the back and top of the case, i just found out my H70 radiator wont fit, going to have to rig once mobo shows up! lame sauce!

[3/21/11 Monday]
Im stuck at work looking at tracking info literally every 5 mins.

4:30 im off work rushing home! still says no delivery?!

mail guy just showed up but didnt drop off my box! WT...ess lol imma confront him!

LMAO i had to go up to him and ASK him if he had it. if i didnt what was he gonna do with it? Shady much?!

FINALLY MOBO AND THE RIGHT ONE! Building time!

Mounting the board to the case is a HUGE pain in the ass.

Girlfriend called, shes coming over... better get as much done as possible before she gets here.

Shes sitting on my bed and im STRUGGLING with the H70 block mount OMG it is the biggest POS ever!

I cant get this mount perfect it keeps falling apart.

UGH I GIVE UP FOR TONIGHT. Ill finish tomorrow.

[3/22/11 Tuesday]
Stuck at work eager as hell to get back home and work.

got off late from work today busy day now to go home and work. girlfriends coming to make me dinner while i work, shes pretty damn legit!

Finally got the H70 mount figured out. TOOK DAMN LONG ENOUGH! lol.

ok thats all i have time for tonight going to BJ Brewery tonight late and i wake up early i need to take a nap before so i dont hate life in the morning.

[3/23/11 Wednesday]
Ok im getting off work at a normal hour (3:30), girlfriends out with friends, im going to put on my sennheisers, blast my music, no interruptions and finish my first gaming build.

Working on the wiring. some of this stuff ive never seen before? kind confused but ill figure it out.

Had to refer to the "Oh FINE" manual for the mobo to figure out the front panel wiring... finding out the motherboard came with this...

wish i knew that before would have made my life a whole lot easier earlier!

finally got all the wiring good to go except the GPU wiring now time to install the H70 radiator, this is gonna suck.

After moving around fans, changing them out and all that jazz i got the radiator to fit. looks good

ITS TIMES LIKE THIS I WISH OCN WOULD LET ME CUSS! THE H70 BLOCK WONT MOUNT TO THE PROCESSOR! this is so frustrating! Been trying to mount for 45 mins. the block teeth dont have enough room to get under the mount teeth...gotta do more ghetto rigging... Classy Ghetto Rigging is what i call it.

so i loosened the H70 mount til it almost came apart, stuck the block inside, twisted and while twisted, tightened the 4 screws, i think this worked. i hope performance isnt compromised.

after that nightmare, now wiring the H70 to the motherboard.

now time to put in the GTX 570... STOKED

trying to manuver the wiring to fit it.

its in and all plugged up! ready to test this baby for the first time... its exciting... my first gaming build

Thats a video^^^^^ click it to watch its on photo bucket lemme know if it doesnt work...

ITS ALIVE!

time to configure the BIOS....

Im getting a lot done tonight i love it!

Windows 7 Installing

lol my work area

thats it for tonight its late and work in the ass crack of dawn... overclocking for the first time ever tomorrow wish me luck and any advice is defiantly welcome guys!

More Coming Later...

Hitting 5ghz isn't hard, the "main" thing, arguable, but the true main thing that holds people back from achieving high clock speeds is temperatures.

During a stress test I'm pretty sure people don't like their CPUs going over 75c, so figure for my rig I got to 70 @ 4.5, I don't think I'll be able to go much farther unless I upgrade my stupid case because it has "meh" airflow.

My idle temps are around 31-32 right now @ 4.5, I'm seriously loving this H70. It was a huge pain in the ass to install, but worth every penny.

ive never used an H70, i heard its the tits, and im not ready for a custom loop yet lol. i didnt think it would be a pain in the ass looked easy FTMP but i wouldnt know. idk maybe someday ill hit 5 but if your saying its hard without staying under 75 probley not gonna happen for me either.

my mobo better come tomorrow, having my 3 new egg boxes sitting in my room overflowing with components like a treasure chest is torture with nothing to do with em lol
