Thread Starter
I need a new CPU cooler because the stock cooler is too loud

I have a amd phenom ii x4 955 3.2Ghz

and a Asus M4A88TD-V EVO/USB3 AMD 880G (Socket AM3) board

I will not overclock this CPU because im building it for someone who i know so what CPU cooler should i get? I need one that is quiet. but nothing fancy.

If anyone comes up with something good ill buy it today from amazon

Dead silent is Scythe ninja 3 you can keep it fanless and it's very efficient . Or you can buy cooler master 212 + is cheaper and silent.

Coolermaster V8 is pretty quiet ( I have 1 in another rig) cools real nice, but it is fairly tall. I'm using the same board as you in a Lian-Li PC-A05NB case. It does clear all the ram slots on that board, so no worries there. It's $49.00 w/ rebate at Newegg.

I had a V8 in my old rig. It broke down on me and it just to say fit into my case.
