that's bad news. That' also if the rad threads are faced to the front of the HAF ?
(p.s. i'm not using push pull but just fans at top and visually it seems to fit)
Where u placed the 120 in ur setup?
Thks

I dremeled a hole to the right of my PSU/left of HDD cages. and made it exhaust out the bottomn of the case.

I dont remember if I had fans connected to the bottomn of the rad when I tested if it fitted. But when I look at it now, it looks like the bottomn of the rad is ending just where the screw holes are. and the rad is going alittle over where these holes go.

oh my fault... i took some pictures of the situation on the back exhaust and the distance from the case to the rad there is about 33mm.

however the XSPC is about 15mm less in height and i have a 140mm fan installed at the back and as you can see the top of the fan is almost aligned with the top of the fan on the rad.
when installing a 120mm rad and the thinner XSPC on top that would exactly give the gap needed to fit in the rad. (thats if the rad is symmetrical o_O)
however they most likely would overlap each other unless the fan for the 120mm rad would be istalled on the outside of the case.

I'm measuring 670 mm from the top of the case to the top of the 140mm fan that is now in the case in that position. The top of the rad when mounted to the 120mm holes will sit slightly lower than the fan (1mm less)
Look like it is enough for the rad to sit there with a gap of around 6-7mm.

thanks

im not so sure since the rad has quites some more height from the screw hole than a fan... a 60mm or 58.5mm rad might not fit in there. maybe you should go with a bit a thinner rad like this

Kromar,
thanks so much!
I checked spacing with the actual rad itself and while wery strict spacing is left (around few mm) it actually fits in and with the fan behind it (pulling air through it) it goes a bit over (well under...wink.gif) the top rad but nothing dramatic
I hope the mobo comes in at some point soon so i can actually start pulling it together.
Thanks again to you and the other for their precious comments grouphug.gif

I tried doing the same thing you did to put the 120 to exhaust out in my HAF-X and wasn't willing to drop a 120mm fan off the 360 to accomodate.

A better location for me was to locate the RX120 with one fan in pull down by the PSU. I put some standoffs under the RAD to get air from the open mesh below it. The fit was just perfect and I have a longer PSU than you. Peep the picture to see what I'm talking about or check out my build log in the sig.

@septro: yes got it, thanks for the picture.
However i will have the top rad fittings facing HAF front (opposite than yrs) and NO push fans below it (just pull on top of it).
The 120 and its pull fan will sneak under the tail of the 360 that way just about few mm under it

@kromar: i have already the two rads, not much of a choice lol :-)

Oh I see where you're going now. More advice for whatever its worth - I tried running the RX360 with the inlet/outlet facing the front like you're trying to do and you lose almost the top 3 5.25 slots, definitely the top 2. You can't fit a DVD/Blu-Ray drive up there and only a fan controller with a short depth would make it. But it looks like you're willing to remove the HDD hot-swap bays like I did - so it may not be an issue but you may want to look at some 90 or 45 degree fittings to make the run from the top rad to the res as I had a hard time doing that without kinking or a long run but your RES may be shorter than mine so it might not be an issue.

Another thing to remember is for the RX120 you want to put up at the exhaust - if you place the fans on the outside of the case, you'll need to get some longer fan screws as the mesh up there actually juts outward from the case making the screws that ship with the RX120 too short.

I tried the same Koolance QDCs as you and took them out afterwards. They function just fine where you'll put them at but I wasn't too keen on the look to match my bitspower matt-black fittings as they are hard to hide. Hope they work better for you.
