i love the 124 bluescreen...that tells you basically insufficient voltage, telltale sign your not stable

Yes those both check stability, but I have found that I can pass Linx and IntelBurnTest at 4.0GHz but am not Folding Stable. It is not meant to be a stability test that is true, but it is more effective than either IBT or Linx as one

Thanks guys for your quick replies!

It's folding now. Using 70% of cpu so I can still read stuff/browse to the tune of my maxed out fans!

Were you BSODing on the GPU client too or do I need the SMP client to tax the cpu for stability?

Loop IBT with 6-7 GB of RAM at least.
The more RAM, the harder it can test the CPU.

Every time you have a WU fail it hurts the project.
That's the main reason I don't like it being used as a stress testing program.

The GPU can cause the system to crash. Normally a over zellas overclock is the root of the issue. GPU's tend to just fail the WU or crash the display driver rather than lock the whole system up.

Use StressCpu to check for stability instead of Prime, Linx, or IBT. It is based on the same Gromacs Core that F@H uses so it's a more realistic test.

I did it with the ~3GB free I had and it still wasn't stable enough for folding, I agree that it shouldnt be used mainly for that, but you wont know for sure if its stable enough til you run folding
