Right now I have my timings at 7-7-7-24 1T, my NB is also 2800. I tried for 5-5-5 and I wouldn't boot up. The voltage is also stock at 1.5. Just did intel burn test and my northbridge got to 60c :O

Sorry to spam reply. But after I did one pass of Intel Burn Test with maximum set I got 51.1 GFlops. Eer not to sound like a complete idiot and I apologize if I do but GFlops is speed I believe? I'm not very much used to this term in terms of OCing, but what is a good GFlop to be at out of curosity? Higher or Lower?

Never really used intel burn test so i can't answer that...but i know in Sandra the higher the GIPS the better so maybe its the same. Faster execution and what not.

Ya with what little research I have done it looks like the higher the GFlops the better. Linx and Intel Burn both use it, just not sure if 51.1 is good or not. I also re-applyed my thermal paste to 212+ because the job I did 2 days ago on it looked like I did it with my feet and it was only half the heatsink, so now at full load its at 55-57c, still a tad high but not 61c like it was.

Either way that ram timing is decent enough 7-7-7 is good if u can squeeze it down 1 more down to 6's that would be excellent.

So I ran Linx with the settings suggested above and not only did I reach 61c but I also got an error about 7 minutes in. Hmmmmm. Grr I got no errors with prime95 for over an hour..hmmm but I suppose this can only be good. Any ideas?
you need more voltage for the cpu...4.0ghz..you usually need at 1.475 to 1.525 depending on what cooler you have. i doubt you can pull it off the hyper 212...you're already hitting the max temp which is 62c...i usually recommend 55c and under for better stability on any overclock. gflop you're pulling is normal for a 4.0ghz overclock. heres a chart of a overclock at a specific voltage. its the average voltage poeple are at.

@sleepergr - Well I have the CPU at 3.8Ghz with 1.45v and the NB at 2800Mhz at 1.4v and I ran Linx and Intel Burn Test both at maximum and the highest temp I got was 55-57c (after I redid my heatsink). I did goto 4.0Ghz with the voltage at 1.475 buuut it went to 61-62c and that is a bit to high for me. So until water cooling, I think my OC is good for now I hope
