if I were to buy a Phenom 2 x4 965 BE or a Phenom 2 x4 1055 BE, what would be an ideal mobo to match either of them with? not looking to spend too much but don't want something that will bottleneck my system. thanx

What features do you need from it?
xfire
usbIII
sata 6GB/s

M4A79XTD EVO
M4A89GTD PRO
TA890FXE
890FXA-GD65

Are good ones.

Edit: If you want to step up to a 1090T BE heres a good combo deal.

honestly I'm not really a gamer I just use my pc for multimedia and some casual gaming(warcraft/dawn of war) sometimes. I don't even know what are all the options you can have on a pc. would love to have a mobo that supports 16gb of ddr3 ram though since my system only supports 8gb's of ddr2.

If you plan on doing any overclocking i would recommend one of those boards, if not you could go with a cheaper motherboard without vrm cooling.

all the mobo's you have recommended SilentSoul look very nice. I'll have to thoroughly check them out.

I also recommend the M4A79XTD EVO, been running in my bro's x 4 965 OCed to 4 ghz for 6 months now perfectly. Plus its 8+2 phase power.

I mean even the M4A79XTD EVO is a nice board for $118.99

not really sure what I'm going to spend at the moment, just kind of checking out all my options. the pc I have now I just bought in July and still have to finish the payments until next January. don't know if I should just completely build a new pc or mix a few new parts with my current one.

I actually would love to keep the Gateway case I have but not sure it's so great for upgrading. I guess I mainly need a new psu, maybe mobo, cpu and heat sink.
