SB XFI Platinum + Creative ASIO and fl studio no sound

I've been having this very annoying problem since I installed my new Creative SB X-FI Platinum Champion Fatal1ty.

Here's my setup:
Optical (Toslink) output to Digital receiver
Line in 2 - 1/4" output to korg esx-1

Here's the problem:
The audio will be working fine through FL Studio using the Creative ASIO drivers and the input is working fine picking up a clean signal but anytime that I click another window or a system sound comes up, it takes over the sound card and the only way I've found to get it back to FL Studio is to completely restart my pc!

I've tried disabling and re-enabling the soundcard from the playback devices menu in windows 7 one other way that worked without restarting my pc was to reinstall the complete sound card drivers. Also I've tried enabling in FL Studio to "Auto close device" which would let another window use the sound and then give it back to FL Studio once its in focus and i've tried deselecting this to only allow FL Studio to have the audio device and to not share it but it hasn't been making a difference..

I hope someone has ran into this before as I really don't want to go back to my onboard sound even though I have onboard optical out..

Sounds like the sound is running in exclusive mode or something. Maybe there's a tick mark you can uncheck in the ASIO drivers.

Hey thanks for replying. The Creative ASIO Panel only has the option to change the ASIO buffer latency from 1ms upwards I use 4ms with no problems.
Also sometimes the FL Studio ASIO drivers will work as long as the sound is working from bootup of windows but they don't allow me to access the input i'm using on my sound card!

I don't have any sound right now after restarting

my settings show the card and show output but I don't hear a thing and my digital receiver does not pick up any signal whereas it worked fine with onboard digital output.

All I can do is reinstall the drivers for now everytime this happens but I really want it to just work and stay working
