Hyper 212 question

I just got this fantastic air cooler and I love it. I had a couple of questions tho.

1. I screwed it on fairly tightly and the board isn't bending or anything but for some reason I can still like move the heatsick in a turning motion, slightly maybe a third of an inch. Is this normal?

2. I am using the fan it came with which runs at 2000rpm I believe and I put on a second fan that runs at 1200rpm, will this cause any temp issues or should I purchase another 2000rpm fan to match it?

Thank you in advance if I do not respond quick!

It will still be able to move as the TIM has not set properly, this usually takes a few hours, And i would suggest you you buy another 2000rpm fan if you want to, the second fan only makes about 2-4 degrees difference

Ya I think I might buy a new fan at some point just so they sync up. I wonder if I should buy 2 new fans that are both higher than 2000rpm?

To #1 - yes it's pretty normal.

To #2 - Get another 120mm Blademaster fan to match the one it came with otherwise you're wasting your time.

Yes it will rotate some. Are you OC'n your chip? A 2nd fan may not be truly needed, but if you're getting one anyway, get a 2nd blademaster.

Check the club in my sig for more info, those guys know everything about the 212.

And btw, did you get the 212+ or the older 212?

Depending how far you're overclocking the single fan will be fine until you get up near 4.0. And a second won't make that big a difference, you'll have to look at better coolers if you overpower it.

1. Mine moves as well, so I'm going to hope yes. It's because even if you've got it down tight it still doesn't have anything to really catch on as it's just two surfaces pressed together tightly with little friction so they can move easily.

2. As long as the 2000rpm fan is the "push" fan you should be fine. Make sure the other is in "pull" though (sorry if you know what those terms mean already). If you really want to get your temps lower pick up a better "push" fan. The second fan though doesn't really do too too much if you've got a good quality fan. I believe ehume did some research on it, or came across that conclusions in his findings.

Best to run the same fan.

If not one fan will be under more stress lowering performance and over time, killing it faster.

The stock blademaster fan is decent for the price. Before goin water I used the 212+ with dual blademasters

Sorry for the late response. But thank you all very much for your replies.

I have a AMD Phenom II x4 955BE overclocked to 3.8Ghz with the voltage at 1.45 and my Northbridge at 2800Mhz with the CPU/NB voltage at 1.4. With Linx running the biggest problem with the most use of memory my CPU max's its temperature out at 61c. Seems a tab but that is 100% full load on everything.

I also have a HAF full tower that I just got and literally just now added the fan on the bottom of the case next to the PSU
