Blue Beast (first build ever) - Page 2

Def get an SSD but you might want to wait as the c400 should be out soon. I love my 300 but make sure you go bigger than 80 as I filled up my intel drive pretty quickly.

An SSD is a great way to "feel" how fast your PC is.

Hmm...I may just call it "6990...WINNING!" And yeah, those C400's should be out in a week or two I guess I can wait. The problem is, something new will always be just a few weeks from being released lol...

True but you really are so close Its like buying a 920 the first week of January

BUt either way make sure you make a place for an SSD drive - great investment.

Ok, so I just placed my watercooling order, again overkill but I got what I wanted (I think?!)

XSPC RX360 and RX120 rads
XSPC Dual 5.25" Bay Res with Swiftech MCP 655 (speed control)
EK Supreme HF Blue Plexi/Black CPU Block
Scythe 6 channel fan controller
Scythe Gentle Typhoon Fans
Bitspower Compression Fittings
Primoflex Blue UV tubing
UV Cold Cathodes

Everything should be in by Wednesday, and I will start the building and photography then. Can't wait!

PS...Still waiting for EK or Koolance to release a 6990 full plate...

Okay, one suggestion of mine would be to... DON'T GET A BIGGER SSD!!!!!!!!!!
I thought I was going to get a 128gb c300 ssd, but then people told me to get a 256gb because it is so good. I think it's the biggest waste of money ever!!! Just get a 128gb, and go raid in the future if you really need more space.

Advice taken, I think 128GB is more than enough for boot and a couple of games.

Ok, so I have figured out the way I want to run the loop. This is in the mean time while I will be waiting for EK to release the FC6990 block for my vid card. If there are any suggestions as far as routing is concerned let me know! Also, fan modifications have been done here, putting the side 200 mm fan up top to act as a pull fan, and the rear exhaust will now be an intake to bring in cooler air to hopefully decrease ambients. When the GPU full block is available, it will be a simple reconnection from points 5 to 6 to integrate the water block.
