Looking good!

What are your temps? Are you planning on overclocking that i7 any further? Are you thinking of getting an SSD or water cooling in the future?

well let me start by saying that when I first got those two 6950's and flashed them temps skyrocketed to mid 90's within a minute to two in furmark. Now with coolers and case under load in the 60's. CPU under load upper 50's lower 60's. I have been thinking about stretching the i7 a little further. As for SSD's, I havnt done any research on those, so I'm not familiar with the benefits they provide. Watercooling will be a necessity down the road I assume, but for now I am happy with a general temperature range of 40-75c.

I have been running into some issues with the 6950's, at least so it seems. When playing bad company 2 for example I notice balck squares appearing ( but only on snow levels). They seem like artifacts. When pushing the card in furmark however on 1920x1080 I see no problems, no matter how high the settings.

I also have a general question regarding OC procedures and GPU's. I'm still fairly new to the whole process, can stability be compromised even when temperatures are far from excessive. By that I mean, can the card die or become damaged from other things except abnormal heat. Power consumption for example? Appreciate any input

What voltage? With temps like that 4GHz will be easy.

General system responsiveness. SSDs have much better access times that HDDs (.1ms compared to 8-12ms) so the OS and programs load faster, etc. It's one of the most noticeable upgrades you can make. Once you upgrade, you'll never go back.

Definitely not a necessity at the moment.

Try lowering your clocks a little (especially the frequency of the memory) and see how things go. Does your screen flicker or have you had your driver crash?

Excessive heat and voltages are what will make a card die. You're probably running your cards at stock volts, so you should be fine.

Just out of curiosity, what kind of temps are you getting at 4Ghz/1.325. I am currently at 3.82/1.256 hitting 80 in prime, Im going to continue until i reach that 4ghz mark. Although I must be honest, prime does push the cpu harder than any game would, at least I am assuming that.
