Doesn't seem super compact, but i guess it's still way better than having to lug my dslr+lens and gear everywhere.

And now you're super lucky to have one of those, they're selling for almost twice the price in ebay at the moment.

Yeah I saw that, not only are they selling for twice the price of retail, but its for a used one with scratches LOL

as for the size, i think its just right, I don't think you'd want it any smaller. As mentioned its already getting a bit cramped on the back. To me its perfect, the salesman at the camera shop said he'd prefer it heavier (being a Leica shooter) but I find the weight great, light be significant.

My friend scored a brand new one for $1600NZD which is about $1180USD. I just picked up the matching lens hood + adaptor combo and waiting for the leather case to arrive. (yes it the hood wont fit in the case but I plan to use it as a half case)

Congrats on your purchase. Its looks really awesome but can you tell me what special thing it has which made you buy it for such high price(?) as it aint even got interchangeable lens which is like a primary feature of DSLR?
I am complete noob about photography stuff so i apologize for asking such questions.

The main draw is the sensor. It has an APS-C sensor, which is the same size found in entry-level DSLR's. The rest is its retro styling and Fuji's reputation for high quality p&s cameras.
