What to expect from the Xbox

Hey guys I am going to be getting back into playing my xbox a lot since I had to sell my 1156 rig. Anyways, I was wondering what kind of mods I can do to it besides finding a way to stuff into a PC case. Would it be possible to add an SSD to it or something else that is completely awesome.

xbox360 or xbox?

anyhow, in terms of the xbox360, not much in terms of mods, beyond fixing flaws in the older designs and chaning the fans. If you have a pre-Jasper unit, xclamp it. NOW!

If you still really want to mod it, you can watercool it...

My xbox360 is a few years old, Its my second one as the first one RROD charging my iPod. I've had this one since 2007 and it does not have an HDMI.

ah, still RROD prone, then. I'd recommend xclammping it. YOu'll find some good guides on xbox scene and such, however, the basics are using short M5 screws and spring steel washers to replace the stock xclamps with bolts screwing right into the GUP and CPU HSF threads (and I never bothered doing the overheating step on my old xbox, that is present in most RROD repair/xclamp guides, as mine was a preventative measure).

Otherwise, clear acrylic case, LED fans, and clear acrylic fan shrouds (makes more sense with a clear case tongue.gif) are all I can think of right now. Maybe watercooling if you are still into that. I haven't heard of any SSD mods, yet. Maybe with JTAG'd units, but I like to retain XBL functionality on mine tongue.gif

Besides physical mods (fan mods, lights, case windows, ect.) there isn't much unless you have an old version. (pre 8xxxx and manufacture date before Jun 18, 2009)

What form factor is the 360 mother board? I have an Antec 300 case doing nothing right now.

Probably not going to fit without some modding. You could try and find someone with a Lian Li Xbox 360 case, I think someone is selling one with a full Xbox 360 watercooling kit over at xbox scene. Might be gone now though.
