Finding a processor for my motherboard

Was wondering if you guys could help me out with this. I'm looking for a new processor but i find that every one I want is not listed under "compatible cpu's" on the MSI site. For example, the quad core 3.0ghz 95watt propus is listed on the MSI site, but it's a different CPU code than the 95watt 3.0ghz propus cpu on newegg. The last time I upgraded a processor, all I did was look at the socket and thermal design, but I don't know if it's the same with every mobo.

This is my mobo

That's fine. As long as the CPU is in the MSI list, it should be ok.

So as long as it's listed by name, its ok? The CPU code doesn't matter?
