Rad...240mm or 360mm

Thread Starter
im doing a single loop setup and by everything i've read the size of the radiator helps but the fans are what make the difference...my question is could i get a 240mm rad with 4 Scythe Gentle Typhoon 120mm x 25mm 4250 RPM fans in a push pull setting to cool off a 2600k cpu and 2 580 ftw hydro copper 2's....or do i absolutely need a 360mm rad?

thanks for the input

Welcome to OCN for Starters!!!

Are you overclocking either the cpu or video cards?
And what type of rad are you looking at getting.

If you are then yes, maybe you may want to go with 2 240mm Rads.
If you are not then no. The scythe should do great with a push pull configuration to maximize static pressure of the fans.

The rad will play a important role because some rads will need fans with high static pressure because the denseness of the fins in the rad where-as, there are rads that made for low rpm fans and that are quite effective at cooling.

If you are getting that go for the stealth 360.
You are cooling 3 devices and the depth of this radiator may not be sufficient for you cooling needs. Either go for the 360 or two 240.
I have the stealth 240 and I can push my amd 940 alone from 3.2 to 3.6 and receive the same temps. I added a waterblock for my 5850 (i got a 6950 now and am waiting for the prices to go down) and had to add another radiator. Plus I keep my ambient temp in my house at 72-78F so that's one reason why. I ended up doing two bonneville heater cores for quiet excessive cooling.
+1 rep for joining.

If moneys no object, always go for the biggest rad you can fit.

A 360 rad would fit so perfectly at the top of the 800D. It still leaves you with access to all the drive bays aswell! bonus!

Edit: Are you wanting to mount the rad internally? I'm not sure whether your motherboard VRM coolers will interfere with push pull fans?

4250rpm GT's will be pretty loud too id imagine lol
