????? How is that relevant to the topic at hand , i too come from old school 8bit comps yet i fail to see the connection to Crysis here.

Anyone who comes from that far back knows that graphics

I'm not in denial because I don't agree with your unsubstantiated opinion. Nor am I in denial because I would rather wait until the game is released before I start to complain about what it is or isn't.

Want those facts so bad OK there you go .........

Beta Crysis 2 DX9 looks worse than Crysis DX9 --- fact
Official released demo has the same quality graphics as unfinished leaked beta
fact
Crysis 2 has very limited level design and closed spaces --- fact
Crysis 2 gameplay basically walks you through the game by hand ---- fact
Crysis 2 MP demo and Beta look like direct console port
fact
Crysis 2 MP demo and Beta lack advanced graphics options.
fact
  1. I've played both Crysis and Crysis 2 DEMO side-by-side and I don't think so. They look about the same to me and I think a LOT more detail is going to come from Dx 11. Most of what the kiddies are saying looks worse aren't things that are important. Things like the ground detail or the roof detail.
  2. Proof?
  3. But how is that somehow consolized or dumbing it down? Half-Life 1 and 2 are like that. Metro 2033 is like that. Portal is like that. TONS of FPSs are like that. It helps them to narrate the story and polish gameplay more.
  4. The game isn't released yet so it's not a fact, but even if this stays the same I would have to see it first hand to comment on how good or bad it is but it sounds like you're exaggerating.
  5. The game isn't released yet so it's not a fact but even if the multiplayer graphics stay the same I have no issues with that. The graphics in there were good so I see no problem. Your definition of a port is pretty damn broad.
  6. The game isn't released yet so it's not a fact but if the game stays that way I won't find it more than the most minor of inconveniences.

Now things that are not 100% confirmed yet but very highly probable judging from the beta/mp demo and on account of person who supposedly have full retail version of the game and is confirming the statements below.

Crysis 2 is released with only DX9 support
Crysis 2 doesn't have advanced graphics options
Crysis 2 DX9 looks worse that Crysis DX9
Crysis 2 is shipped without Sandbox 3
Crysis 2 final retail version looks the same as the leaked Beta/MP demo
(plus we have the screensshots and brief performance info from said person)
  1. I won't have an issue with the Dx9-only at release, depending on how fast and how much they do with the Dx 11 patch. If Dx 11 fixes the roads, floors and ceilings and comes out a few days after release then you just come off as a petty whiner
  2. I've already touched on the graphics options and your opinion that Crysis 2 looks worse than Crysis 1.
  3. I don't care that Sandbox 3 isn't shipped with Crysis 2 and you have no legitimate complaint in this area until we see how long it'll take them. If they have it out in a couple of weeks, then you just come off as a petty whiner.
  4. Post a link to the comparison between the Beta and final version please.

All that indicates that Crysis 2 was developed and optimized for the consoles , its going to look worse that the original and PC version is a poor console port. Crytek has failed to provide any official screenshots or information on the PC version of the game apart from the statement that it's going to look better than consoles and a promise of DX11 patch later and is clearly avoiding the subject which only keeps us convinced that nothing good is coming for the PC.On the other hand they have been very eager to show off to show how great Cryengine 3 looks on the consoles , granted they want attention from console using public but that doesn't mean they should ignore us PC gamers like that.

Considering how disrespectful many in the community have been towards them I don't blame them for ignoring the questions for now.

but i'm getting an impression that you're the one who's trolling me now.
If you are OK with how the game looks/plays that's fine but don't tell me that serving us a console port that looks worse than original is OK because Crysis looked way above his time , that doesn't make sense mate

Until it's proven that the Beta is 100% the actual game, why would what's in the Beta matter? Why can't you wait 2 whole days to see what the finished product is? Are you in some forum race to exaggerate as much as possible with as little fact as possible? You might be right, you might be wrong, but speaking about it in such concrete terms without proof that you are right is just illogical to me. Only haters and fanboys do that. LoL just wait 2 whole days and then you can rip the game to your hearts content and you'll have concrete detail behind you. Right now you just sound foolish in assuming so much from so little.

If we go back in history with that mentality we would be nowhere right now. No innovation, nothing.

It's your money. However, myself and many people here would rather express our disgust at the mediocrity that is Crysis 2. It so far does not live up to Crysis 1 as a PC game. It's not Crysis anymore. It's Call of Duty: Maximum Crysis. You don't need the game infront of you to know that it's true.

LoL first of all nowhere did I say that I settle for mediocrity, I just don't get all OCD about the pebbles on the ground if the gameplay is great. To you, minute details and being able to wow yourself at screenshots is important. To me it's not.

They deserve my pre-order considering I listened to the Crysis 1 haters and stayed away until it was a bargain bin pickup. If the game is good then I'll continue to buy Crytek, If it's bad then If i really like where they are with the rest of the game I might forward my review of the game like I did to Gabe Newell and Half-Life 2:Episode 2. Or like I did with that horrible Fight Night Round 4. http://www.overclock.net/playstation/537014-my-review-fight-night-round-4-a.html#post6641803

THAT is how you critique a game, not by using exaggeration and blanket statements with no facts or specific support for your opinions.

Stop QQin, do you have faith in Crytek? Well if so then have faith in Crysis 2.

Start crying when the game comes out and it sucks.

People in general love the whole doom and gloom thing, and when it comes to video games it's no different

I'm ready for Crysis Funk, are you? 24hrs left until the truth.

Oh, to a degree, I do agree with Funk, Q3A is still my favorite FPS of all time. I still play Quake Live now and the graphics are Dreamcast quality but the gameplay is so addictive.

Amazon has a good deal on a physical copy so I may pick that up tomorrow.
I've learned my lesson with the digital copy of CoD: BO. I wanted to resell that game so bad, but I couldn't. I haven't played it since November, just sitting on my Steam account. I'm sure Crysis will kick ass, but if I want to resell it because I'm not happy I can this time. I will also buy a physical copy for BF3.

I'm one of the few who actually enjoyed the storyline and everything else in Crysis besides JUST the graphics. I've played through numerous times and it never gets old. The Nanosuit is what makes the game for me. There's so many fun things and strategies you can do with it. The game changes everytime I play.
