Will 2.2 Bring The Intercept To Optimus V Levels? - Page 2

Ok.

Before I go through with this (The Intercept isn't even here yet), is it really worth returning the Intercept? I mean is it really that bad that it has a hard time running android?

From the video it seems that the Optimus V is a good deal more responsive and faster than the intercept.

Totally worth returning. I had the Intercept for a week before selling it, hated the thing. It was more bearable with a few tweaks, but still not a pleasant experience.

Then when the Optimus V released I was expecting a similar experience since it had a slower processor, but at least Froyo.

I went ahead and got it from Best Buy for $130 and never looked back. So much faster it was ridiculous. The dedicated GPU helped a lot with some stuff.. It was on sale at Target for $130 with a $20 GC last week. I think Radioshack still has it for $140.

The only bad thing was the lack of an actual keyboard, but then again it's a lot slimmer and has a higher resolution screen.

It would still be workable but there is noticeable lag with the intercept where the optimus V has none. I should note I haven't ever used the intercept I'm just going off comparisons that have been done online but judging by those the intercept is noticeably slower doing basic tasks.

My dad has the Intercept and loves it. He just had to flash a new ROM on it, and turn off certain things. Theres a lot of stuff that loves taking up resources that aren't needed, and with the new ROM, he said it flys. I rather have the slide out keyboard as well, instead of an all touch screen phone.

Well the Capacitive buttons on the LG Optimus Chic has the same problems as shown on the Samsung Intercept and it is approx the same. Overall having a biased option i'd say the Optimus V is the better choice since it has compatibility of Gingerbread which does have a nice upgrade in features. Not a whole lot in performance but the Optimus Series is also overclock able.

The optimus is the better buy. I have the intercept I got it over the optimus because of the keyboard. But I'd like to be able to overclock it and downclock it when its idle. Anyone know of a program that works for the intercept to overclock it? I went tghrough a bunch but couldnt find one that supported the intercept.

Yea, I just bought the Optimus due to me bricking the Intercept, but the Intercept didn't really seem laggy at all. Maybe a little slower in loading some things, but not laggy. Also, web pages are not nearly as slow to load as in that comparison vid.

Well the hardware isn't bad since the Intercept does have a faster CPU. Especially if you were to use a custom Froyo Rom it would be substantially faster.
