Going to keep my usage under 4gb this month and see what other user reports.

BLEH!
I used to have no problem with AT&T, but now that they forced everyone to cough up their older yet functional phones to use new ones on their "improved 3g" network (aka, encouraging people to buy smartphones) with their enforced mandatory data plans (in addition to voice plans) for any phone deemed a "smartphone," I'm dumping them. I'm probably just going to break my contract and go with virgin mobile (on sprint network). They have no-contract 1200 anytime minutes + unlimited text, data/web for $40 a month (including taxes and fees). Can't say no to that.

I seriously cannot believe AT&T has not been sanctioned by the FCC for their recent business practices.

MyWi is awesome and works very well on my 3.1.3 3G t-mobile unlocked......edge is slooow but enough for basic stuff......rarely use it now though.....they won't know unless you download gigs of data or everytime you sink your iPhone, it sends a app report to apple, and then to at&t.....somehow

MyWi is a lifesaver for me. I frequently need an internet connection for my laptop in areas with no wireless or wired connection available. Previously it would go like this:

Call the office, "Hey [insert colleague's name here], can you log into so-and-so's server and check that xyz is working properly?"

Now I can just turn on my hotspot, join my laptop to it and have full web access... even in the middle of a golf course (did that earlier today)!
At long last...

I said a liberal......or........a douche.

I removed liberal because some not so bright people might assume I am against liberals by putting them in the sentence.

Even though I have Ernesto as my avatar.

But yes I agree.

Makes me happy to be with Verizon, I tether all the time on my Droid, but not as much these day's as I now have a netbook with Verizon built right in. But still I used to use it all the time, hell when I'm with friends out and about I end up running the tether half the time so they can get online with there iPod's and stuff while were doing a road trip or something lol.

I had AT&T/Cingular long ago and got fed up with them, went to T-Mobile which ended up being even worse. Now I'm with Verizon, I've had nothing but awesome service from Verizon now have 3 devices through em, and plan on upgrading here in July on my primary and secondary which hopefully the Bionic will be out by then

Tethering is a feature of the phone that is used in tangent with the network. Your point makes no sense.

The phone's feature is that it can make phone calls. Another feature of the phone is that it can browse the web. You still pay seperate payments for them. Don't quite get what you're trying to say lol

They're contract allows them to terminate at any time for any reason but not change it at their discretion, if it did, it's not a binding contract.
Overages are apart of the contract what are you talking about? Lol the only time overages can be argued is if they had no explicable reason to be there. If you exceed your minutes, texts, or data plan - they charge you overages. Simple as that.

You also don't seem to grasp that you're voiding your contract by using unauthorized tethering - so why you don't think they can RIGHTFULLY charge you for it is beyond me. It isn't an unauthorized charge. If you're using it - you're accepting the charges.

You make a foreign phone call for example, and you don't have a foreign payment minute thing, you agree to those over charges just by making a foreign call.
You COULD argue those charges with the provider because "you weren't aware", but they'll only remove those charges complimentary NOT because they have to. They'll tell you this word for word - trust me I have myself as well as others.
This is the way phones have worked for a LONG time now.

You don't have to use MiWi. I downloaded a crack to the OS itself to trick the phone into thinking I paid for tethering. There is no app the use. I then tether over bluetooth.
