The Geforce GTX480 I want needs 42A on the +12V rail

The power supply Im looking at has these specs 600W

+3.3V@24A; +5V@24A; +12V1@18A; +12V2@18A; +12V3@15A; -12V@0.5A; +5VSB@2.5A

Will it run the GTX480?

Depends on the rest of the rig, but more than likely, yes. An i7 + a 480 will eat close to 500W overclocked. Not much headroom, but it'll work.

A GTX480 take about 300W on full load. So that PSU should handle it as long as it delivers its rated power.

Is the amp rating ok? It seems like it wont be able to deliver the required amount. If it doesn't its going to force the the PSU to run at higher amps, resulting in a blowout or a shortened life
