How to remove ddr3 from single release slots ?

Thread Starter
I think I'm missing something here. For the last 20 years every PC I've owned or worked on had release tabs on either side of the ram slots; you push them down, the ram pops out...

Is there some trick to these new style ddr3 sockets on my Asus P8P67 ? I hate the idea of levering them out and they certainly don't pull straight out like the illustration in the manual (at least with any ease).

Its exactly like the two push, just only push one side, it will pop up and you can pull it out. Nothing complicated, they stay in very well, I've never had a problem with memory on my Rampage III Formula

Um just unclip the one side and pull?

That's what I do.

Just push down on the one side that pivots and pull out. As long as you aren't yanking them out Hulk style they'll be fine.

Just push down on the one side and pull it out. Its built to work this way, so don't worry about it. My guess is they do this because having the tabs on the other side would press against the video card when pushing them down.

it just seems clumsy. maybe the ram will pop out of this newer board a little easier, but I definitely prefer the old style double release.
