HP DM1Z Still The One To Get?

Thread Starter
Hey all,

I know about a month ago, the HP DM1Z was the laptop to get for people looking for mobility, good battery life, and decent performance. Wondering if anything has changed in that regard since, given how fast things in the tech world move. Any new contenders out there? Selling my old gaming laptop today and want to order my replacement. The DM1Z looks to fit all the needs I have for my next laptop, but again, if there are other new options out there that are better, I'd love to know about them.

Thanks,
Q

Well, I just picked one up.

Nothing seems to come close in terms of build features, build quality, and looks right now. I'm interested in how I react to the touchpad though. I've used an Envy and I absolutely HATED the touchpad.

Also, i'm eager to see how it does with SC2.

it's the best portable/performance notebook/netbook choice
if your budget is under $450/$500.

Over $500, and there are plenty of other choices with faster processors and graphics.

I'm doing a review on it (thread linked in my signature). Let me know if there's anything you want me to add to it to solidify your purchase

I think so. It's one of the cheapest, yet one of the better built and thought out E350 units outright. (IMO).
