Generally enabling HT on the i7's hinder game performance to some small degree.

No performance gain. The 2500k (which doesn't have HT) actually gets slightly better performance in many games than the 2600k, (which does have HT) and that's with a higher clock on the 2600k.

And if you do any video encoding, here's the difference between the 2600k and 2500k:

I would say that in general hyperthreading will not affect your gaming performance.
BC2 is the only game that can work all the physical cores you can throw at it, bravo Dice!

Here's a pretty thorough comparison of the 2500k vs. 2600k.

In the Final Fantasy XIV - 1280 x 720 and Handbrake svn3717 charts, there appears to be a typo.

Should be i5-655k, not i7-655k.

For an i7 no, I run HT on my i7 only because of all the other programs I have running in the back ground when gaming (After burner, Real temp) SC2 does not show any diff. with HT on or off, now if I turn my OC off I get all kinds of Lag in SC2 when the screen loads up with action.

Hyper Tessellation will be revealed with DX13 and the Nvidia Alpha 1 GPU core
(now all I need is a swammy emoticon)

I don't see how the 2500k can be more powerful then it's predecessor?

Would I see any positive performance gain in either adobe software (mainly illustrator or photoshop) or 3D programs like Cine4D?

And what about folding?

Sorry if this would be considered off-topic.
