Help pls - no bios setup after bios update

Sorry If I posted this in the wrong forum.
I tried to search around for the right place.

Anyways, I was trying to upgrade an older motherboard (p5n-e sli)
to take a newer since it didn't support the cpu's I had on hand.

After I flashed the bios (which it went through the usual erase / write cycle, then the verify cycle, and said completed, rebooting in 5 seconds)

after reboot , it loads window just fine.
support the newer cpus.
but when i hit del, i get blank screen.
i tried going back one version of bios, flahsed successful, but same problem
went all the way back to the oldest bios that support the new cpu, same problem.

I am out of ideas... anyone got any suggestion
would be greatly appreciated.

Remove the battery for couple of minutes, put it back in and try to boot. When removing the battery make sure the rig is off
