Oh my gosh, all these updates are looking AWESOME!
SATA Cables -> impeccable
HDD Cages + grommets -> smart
Colour changes for main 24pins -> subtle ; great
13 fans...unfortunate. But good on you for finding out what you did and fixing it!
NAS Idea : genius.

Hows the internet in Alaska? (seems a bit far ... )

Those fans . . . sheesh! It was a simple error that culminated in several hours of extra work. It wouldn't have been a big deal if they weren't already all wired up with ZERO slack - ah well, live and learn eh?

Internet speeds ups here are same as most places in the states, although a bit more expensive (depending on where you live). Currently I'm paying $110-ish a month for 22mb upload 1mb download. I could drop down a few levels, but they screw you with lowered data caps at less speeds - with my wife working from home 40 hrs/wk, a roommate, and myself all gamers, netflix, a/v streaming etc . . .we need the higher caps.

There are a few fiber backbones running up here from Seattle, and there has been a big project the last few years by a few of the Comm companies up here where they've been running fiber underwater along the south and west coasts of the state. So hopefully that will translate to better speeds in the more remote places of the state.

But it's like everything up here. If you are on the main highway system, you have good data speeds, but a lot of the villages and smaller towns are still DSL connections - 1mb-3mb up for the whole building kinda thing. Some towns I work in, my 3G service is faster then the hotel data speeds - welcome to rural Alaska. I'm a travelling IT tech by trade, and I'm sent all over the state. Most places you have to fly to and can't drive, but good ole AT&T with 3G is there. It's cheaper to drop a cell tower then pave a road I guess lol!

Just wondering if you would be using anything to monitor water temp's are/or pump out put(LPH type deal) or do you see any need for it. That is a lot of hard ware for a pump to died and not get a heads up on temps.

I haven't completely decided what to use yet, but am leaning towards THIS I'm not to worried about pump failure as I'll be running dual pumps for redundancy. I will have a flow meter or temp sensor in the system though - just undecided as to which one.

I know its a bit late for an idea...but have you thought of a showcased piece, item, or section, where all three elements might come together?
If it was all watercooled I would suggest a 3-section res with three different colours. (Yes, I'm Canadian. Flavours, colours, theatre, centre, etc)

I had considered something similar once upon a time, but couldn't come up with anything that blended green, red, and blue very well. Admittedly, I didn't spend all that much time on it though. The only thing that has all three colors themes together is the light switch panel.

The res I have is already built and is three colors, but it was designed to blend with the ICE side so it's purple, blue, white.

If you have any ideas you want to throw out, feel free.

Strobe light? xD
In all seriousness... can you post a list of your hardware so i can get more of an idea?
How will the case be oriented? Red : Main system. Green : NAS? Blue : ??

What kind of peripherals will you have?
Will it be contained in a desk, drawer, on a shelf?

The hardware is on the OP at the bottom, but I copied it here as well - under the spoiler tags

The Gear
Case Labs M8 + pedestal Link - I can't say enough good things about the case itself and the customer service. Great group to deal with!
Motherboard - ASUS Crosshair V
8GB Ram
x2 Sapphire 2gb 5870s in Xfire
Corsair AX1200
ASUS Blu-Ray / DVD player/burner
Rheosmart 6 Fan Controller
LED lighting - windows and internal case sections lit seperately

The Loop
x2 XSPC RX360 rads
x1 EK Supreme HF - Main CPU block
x1 EK Supreme LT - NAS CPU block
x2 EK 5870 GPU blocks and backplates
x15 GT AP-15's - painted
Frozen Q reservoir Link- Tri-Spiral blue/purple/white
x2 Swiftech MCP 35x pumps
compression fittings - including a few pass thru's
x2 Koolance V3LN QDC's
Primochill tubing - white and red
Silver coil

The Pedestal NAS
Mobo / CPU TBD
Silverstone Strider Plus 550w
x4 WD Green 2 TB HDDs
CPU will be watercooled and part of the main loop - HDD's will be aircooled

The FIRE side is the main system, the ICE side is PSU's and reservoir, and GREEN is the NAS.

The case will be on small filing cabinet in the office - way to big for being contained in a desk or drawer . . .

I'm still waiting on my final order to arrive before I can complete the water loop and attempt a boot. The next update will come after the parts arrive.

How about something like http://www.frozenqpcmods.com/tri.php with Red/Green/Blue fluorescent colours which are standard?
I know you already have a res but.. this seems to be an easy way to mix all three. you could place it separate from the case or attached to it

That is the exact res I'm using already with blue/purple/white - as it was $180-ish shipped up here, I don't see adding another or replacing it soon. I had it ordered and shipped prior to me doing the NAS pedestal - that was an addition to the original plan so I didn't have the green color in mind yet. I may change it for a future upgrade, but we'll see. Thanks for the suggestion though.

I did a bit of work this weekend, but not much as my order didn't arrive. I had to pull the aluminum plates off and do a couple more wire sets into the FIRE side for some 4 pin molex connections and the SATA power to the ODD and HDD. I also ran my first tube in this build.

The rest of my gear should be in today, and I'll be able to get things rolling again. The plan is to finish the last bit of wiring, and complete the tubing this week so I can boot the system by this weekend. I'll do the lighting at the very end once I know the system is alive and well. Stay tuned later this week for one of the final updates.
