On a side note; do you feel any kind of "sluggishness" when you scroll through lots of pictures? To test it you can either go into one of the threads here with lots of pictures or have a 100+ picture library and scroll through them.
My idea is whether that would be a good laptop for my girlfriend who doesn't do much with a computer; just picture moving.
Hey shnur, I don't find that there's any real sluggishness when scrolling through lots of pictures. However, I have a different gripe when it comes to scrolling, period: HP has adopted the two-finger scroll (like MacBooks) and sometimes I don't do it properly. Curse my sweaty hands .

That's pretty nice, I suppose there's some GPU acceleration since my P4 at the office is having trouble with like... 30 pictures lol

I think so. Could it be your internet connection?

BTW, if you're talking about Facebook pictures, I've definitely noticed sluggishness when scrolling in profile pictures. I think it has to do with the new layout they have.

I have a 126mbit internet connection at the office and that's because the card in my computer is a 100mbit one... otherwise it'd be 4 digits. I work at a telecom company and I'm directly through the backbone.

Facebook laggs on my sig rig lol. I'm not even going to get started on that.

Ah, well it sounds like you know what you're doing haha.

To errone waiting for the rest of my tests, please be patient with me. I've started school again, and I work part-time, so finding times for the tests is a bit hard.

EDIT Keep the suggestions coming!

Wait, they don't even allow you to change it to side scrolling on the pad? I think Linux should fix that. Though, you're on your own with the sweaty hands thing.

I've not yet found a way to do this in Windows7, though admittedly I've only been using it during classes when I take notes. Outside of class, I really haven't found time to play with it. I haven't even uninstalled all of the extra software that HP packed into it if that tells you guys anything.

Hahaha. I definitely feels ya. I'm not gonna do a fresh installation until I can make a back-up DVD, and to do that, I'm still looking for an external DVD writer. So far, no go...
