Hows this PSU look?

Thread Starter
Building a system for a friend (he purchases the parts). I chose everything, but then he went out on a limb and is looking at this PSU. It seems really pricey to me, but maybe your just paying for reliability and quality?

Anything better for the money? Its quite a beast of a system, and I am looking to overkill on PSU as much as possible without getting too pricey.

Oook,

What is his spec? Without that we can't really recommend. Also, the post in your sig, it's true. The i5 2500k when overclocked can trade blows with a 1366 hexcore in a number of applications, and the i7 2600k will beat it in the majority of multi threaded applications.

You think that's pricey? It's not... It's silver certified at 750 watts, and costs $130 and that's pretty good.

But as above, I can't say that it's good if the computer needs more wattage.

It's a good PSU... and how is it too pricey? Why spend loads of money on other components and then cheap out on the PSU, which is the most important component?

I fail to understand this.

Thats why I am asking, I know NOTHING about PSUs. I know it will handle his system, but I'm just wondering if there is better for the money. For some reason my brain can't comprehend PSU information haha.

That PSU you linked is VERY good for the price, I don't know if you can find better for less $.

At the 750 watt level it will be hard to find something better for less. That psu is highly regarded.
