[myCrysis] Crysis 2: No SandBox3 editor, no advanced graphics config, no DX10/DX11! - Page 15

Thats the only reason crysis is still around, graphical mods, new levels, the cry2engine was a really good modding platform.

They've effectively killed this game by betraying their biggest, and only fanbase. Their effectively starting from scratch, a new game in a market thats already overcrowded with first person shooters with only one difference(the nanosuit), which won't matter to the majority of them. I'm sorry crytek but you guys have just dug your own grave. GG crytek

The sad thing about this is that because of all this, it'll be pirated like no tomorrow, I would rather it didn't happen since crytek can blame piracy for their not so good exit from the PC but its inevitable

Here is some food for thought: The Cryengine 3 video shown at GDC 2010

Notice how much better the PC clips are compared to the console ones? I know this isn't indicative of the final PC version, but this goes against the leaked beta. Although it was my assumption that DX10 or 11 shouldn't be that much of a gap visually

For the advanced option config, who cares? It's a set of options that allows you to choose a greater shade of greys instead of white, grey and black (Low, Medium or High Detail). You were going to play the game for it's graphics? If so, sit back and think of how much of gamer you really are.

All this crying, for the sake of crying.
Okay first part of your post that is wrong:
Just because we may PERSONALLY not use the console / editor, doesn't mean its not handy. How else do we get great mods such as "Real Lifesys" or "Rygel's Ultra High Res Texture Pack"? Those don't just randomly pop up like a stiffy in middle school. The editors are EXTREMELY important, even for those that don't specifically use them...just for that purpose. So we can benefit from community mods. No editor, no mods.

Second part that's wrong:
This is FREAKING CRYSIS 2. Umm, hello? Crysis 1 has been the graphical benchmark since 2007. Crysis 1 is the ENTIRE REASON that I have the rig that I have today (well, that and GTA IV). I couldn't rest until I could max out both of those games with mods. Of COURSE we have high expectations for the graphics on Crysis 2. It's freaking Crysis! Durr.

Seriously, how did you first hear about Crysis? I'll bet MONEY on it that you first heard about Crysis by the famed joke "can it run Crysis" because Crysis was such a graphics phenomenon for its day (still is).

If you seriously don't care about graphics, then you honestly would be better fit playing a silly little console toy.

CryEngine 3 was in the leak, and there was a "Very High" setting.

The community will not be silenced. If you're sick of people whining or people whining about people whining then avoid threads where that is likely.

Right, like the community wouldn't be silenced with their MW2 boycott?!

ROFL get over it. The 'community' is a bunch of childish whiners who talk the talk but don't walk the walk. They FILL forums with their rants and cries and in reality they're 3% of the PC gaming community!

And btw, whats with the hypocritical notion that the < 3% of PC gamers can cry their own personal tsunami to attack Crysis 2 island, but the other 97% of us can't defend it? I'm part Japanese btw so don't give me any flak for using the words 'tsunami' and 'island'

Please for the love of god, take me back to 2004, before all the console fanboys jumped over to the PC side and made us as bad as them.

I'm quite sure I bashed both sides in my post.
