A tech demo shows what the engine is truly capable of. Did you see the unreal engine tech demos? Well, let's say it isn't the same that was applied in the games made out of it.

People owe it to the PC platform to not purchase games that are, frankly, as half-assed as this title - and it will be.

Vote with the wallets, don't buy it. Once you do they would have gotten all they wanted from you.

It really does show when devs lose that passion for gamemaking and redirect it at money making. Their titles start to come up short and repeat the same old formulas...

Contradiction much?

I've pretty much given up on preordering games. They're always either buggy or need to be optimized or changed in some way after launch. This process always takes a few months, by which time you can get the game for half the price (or less). There will also have been plenty of reviews of the initial release version, plus reviews of any changes from being patched.

You can make a more informed decision about a cheaper and more stable game by just letting it simmer. Very few preorder bonuses are worth it.

I had to wander around web for an hour or so to find solution, trying to edit encrypted .ini files to fix the problems. It was a nightmare.

They've given no love or whatsoever to PC, this pile of shiz is suffering from "acute consolitis".
I can explain it perfectly! Double standard.

Why in the hell would they do anything else?! Dx 9 does 99% of what Dx10 can do except it doesn't cut off 50% of the damn fanbase and Dx 11 is only used by 5.6% of the entire PC gaming community.

LoL I weep for the business community when you kids graduate and get jobs.

What's the difference between DX10 and DX9? In terms of visuals, there is pretty much none. Did you play Crysis 1? Then you should know that modding the config could get you the same 'very-high' visuals on DX9.

In the leak I played, let's say that those were crap compared to C1. Crysis 1 worked really well on DX9/DX10, hell I don't even see why they should include DX11.
To be perfectly fair, the minute details that people here are complaining about are the things that Dx 11 would be able to fix. The bumpmapping on roofs. The detail on the ground. NOTHING that this game has been faulted for so far is game changing. It's the type of stuff you wouldn't notice unless you purposely stopped playing and started nitpicking every screenshot.

Great, another jag-off who thinks he knows better than people just because they're complaining.

Gosh, maybe if these "kids" listen to more rap, huh?

You just.. couldn't be more wrong. Seriously, it's hard to start.

There is a HUUUGE potential difference between DX10 and DX9. It simply wasn't applied too well in Crysis.

I.. I am somehow surprised that I can be so taken aback by someone who likes rap, but here we are.
50%? WHAT?!
There isn't even a DX9 graphics card that can run Crysis 2.
And there's not a single person who has a DX9 card. The last DX9 card was the 7900 GTX.
Seriously?

Right, no, I am sure there is some place in your mind that truthfully believes that a DX11 patch can magically make this game, which looks worse than COD4.. look better than Crysis.

I don't really have anything else to say.

What if that was the point all along was for them to have less lifelike grass and more polished gameplay?
1) Portal 2 isn't Crysis. Crysis' name was made by the graphics, period. When you hear the name Crysis, you expect a ground breaking graphical phenomenon. You don't think, OMG SUCH AN AWESOME AND FUN TO PLAY GAME!!! (Even though it really is pretty fun). You think about the graphics when you first hear the name Crysis.

2) Portal 2 is made by Valve. Valve loves its PC users. Hello...they kind of, you know...have STEAM! Portal 2 isn't being hyped up to be this massively awesome graphic game. It's hyped up to be tons of fun.

Again, Portal 2 isn't Crysis. So don't EVEN go there.
