Bwhahahaha.

Well, can we really be that surprised?

Told you so. Was so sick of people saying "oh but they may change it" etc etc.

People can be so naive, and ALWAYS are. They won't change it at such a stage; it's too late, and would cost too much.

People never learn, especially fanboys.

Now i expect people to say "Oh wait till the patch, it'll be sorted then" Oh christ...

I've lost count of how many titles that have just flopped, and had people defend it to the end, and deny the obvious truth. Makes me laugh.

No, cue Crysis 2 being hailed as the second coming and people saying that not only are the graphics as good as Crysis 1, but they are actually better in 3, 2, 1...

It's funny cuz they're screwing over the people that really kept this game alive. Without the PC community and everyone using Crysis as a benchmark, Crytek never would have made any money.

Then they go and make Crysis 2 as a really bad port and just give the finger to all the PC gamers. GG, Crytek. GG

Well I can only say...

If they're releasing SB3 for free, then screw Crysis 2. I'm not buying it

Good. Maybe this will stop people from blowing it out of proportion because it makes their video card sweat. Maybe this will force gamers to judge Crysis 2 on how it is as a game.

And hopefully the time saved by not giving us these things let Crytek give us an actual game this time around. You know, one with a proper story and all that jazz.

I'll take that too. If Crytek can confirm this I would buy.
I wouldn't mind waiting for a patch if we also have the access to the console and files.

Three graphic options, encrypted files and DX9 is a no go.
With the 3-5 hour SP campaigns of todays games, even if the story is epic, it will be short.

Thread Starter
In my opinion.

I know the game isn't released, yet. The only proof we have now is that the game doesn't come with Sandbox 3 nor DX11. Possibly it doesn't have those advanced graphics config, but as reported in this thread, it is not possible to have proof since you can't enter the game before the official release date.

But I'll ask one simple question.
Why did they never show us one, one single picture, of the game in what-you-could-call-very-high-settings? Tbh, it would have hyped their game in a much, much better way. They are getting a LOT of pre-cancels just because of that. What can they do to fix that? I don't know, but if I was Crytek, I would have shown a proof that the game is actually much better on PC.
Another thing is that Crytek isn't stupid, they would have shown the actual game with the 'real' quality, but this level of quality simply isn't there. Every video, pre-footage gameplay (This is really important), gameplay videos with commentary, pictures that Crytek published on the net was the level of graphical engineering there was in the leak/demo.

What can you expect? We are four days from release.

That said, if you do think they could get the game graphically better in four days, take my opinion with a grain of salt.

if they are being held under nda by nvidia then that would make sense. it definitely sounds like something nvidia would do. not to mention nvidia's slogan on the new gtx 590 is "the way crysis 2 is suppose to be played".

it means nothing towards sales if crysis really can deliver. i doubt as many preorders have been cancelled as before and if it's just over graphics that really do exist then when it's released they will go back to buying it. crysis 2 is number 6 on the top 50 on amazon. couldn't have been that many cancels

same with the editor. if the editor is released in october people will still use it. they just wanted it at launch and it was never promised to them at launch or on the disk.
