Xonar D1 vs Xonar DX

Thread Starter
What is the difference between D1 and the DX? Is there a difference in sound quality between these two? What are the ups and downs of each? I can pick up a used D1 for $50 shipped. Advice would be greatly appreciated. thumb.gif

I have had them both and not a huge difference in sound quality. The signal to noise ratio is the same but the interfaces are different. Xonar line in general is best bang for buck sound card IMO. Can't go wrong with any of them. Even the 30 dollar one.

The main difference is that the D1 is PCI and the DX is PCI-Express. The DX needs a floppy 4-pin power cable plugged in to power it while the D1 is powered solely through the PCI slot.

I love it, he said the same thing I said and you kind of corrected me and said correct on his. I did mention that they were the same card BESIDES INTERFACE.
