ok got it solved today
damn ram was dead. went to a freinds house and started to take his system apart and plug them into mine. got some ocz and runs perfect.

how do 4 sticks of ram just go bad.

my cheap 300 dollar setup turned into 500 bucks

Well gratz, glad you got it fixed, do you have an ups or surge protector that your rig is plugged into?

If not you should, you will experience a lot less hardware problems when your protected from power surges (to answer your question... that's what can kill all your memory at once and more).

you know what now i remember something did happen at the time the thing failed
my power line was corroded outside and causing power surges. light flickered all the time. we got that fixed. going to buy a surge protector today
